Result of the 'Downs Duel' held at Marlborough Golf Club on 30th October 2008

a - 16 Society members were split between 2 overall teams, representing Ogbourne and Marlborough, which played against each other in a 4 ball matchplay format
 
b - weather conditions were dry, bright, albeit chilly with a NE breeze
 
c - of the 4 games involved, Marlborough won 3 to

a - 28 Society members played stableford team and individual competitons over 18 holes
 
b - as-well as various prize categories, the individual winner was awarded the Bell Trophy

- as well as various prize categories, the winning team were awarded the
Presidents Trophy

- weather conditions were dry with a strong breeze

Results of the Ramsbury Trophy held at Marlborough Golf Club on 5th May 2008

- 34 society members and guests played in a stableford competition over 18
holes at Marlborough Golf Club

- as-well as there being separate categories for ladies, men, juniors and
guests, the overall best scorer was awarded with the Ramsbury Trophy

- weather conditions conspired against us again, causing half of the course
to be closed. Two rounds of 9 holes were therefore played, all of which were
on temporary greens

- Those presented with prizes were:

Ramsbury Trophy Winner - Wendy Jordan - on countback

Ladies 1st place - Wendy Jordan - 49 points
Ladies 2nd place - Kirsty Wilson - 45 points
Ladies 3rd place - Isobel Henry - 43 points

Mens 1st place - Clive Adolph - 49 points
Mens 2nd place - Roger Henry - 48 points
Mens 3rd place - Guy Piercy - 45 points

Juniors best score - Alex Ballard - 41 points

- 26 society members and guests played a singles stableford competition over
18 holes at Test Valley Golf Club
- weather and course conditions were good

The winners were:

Ladies - 1st place - Gillian Leake - 38 points on countback

2nd place - Kirsty Wilson - 38 points

Men - 1st place - Malcolm McFee - 41 points

2nd place - Brian Davis - 40 points

3rd place - Bob Osmond - 39 points
